Hi,
I'd like some opinions/advice as to which tripod and head I should get as my head is now spinning LOL.

I need to put a 500mm lens on (8KG) plus 1 D body...so it needs to take about 12KG..Currently I have a Manfrotto neotec and ball head but its not liking the weight very much :-( it holds it but only just....

but there is such a lot of choice out there I now have no idea what to go for...and I'll have to sell the Manfrotto as I won't then need it.

This is mostly for wildlife and may be a bit of sport....

So please help... confused with headache

Gitzo 3 series, say GT3531 and a Markins M20 head.

Which 500mm lens do you have that weighs 8Kg? If it really is that heavy then I'd say Gitzo 5 series plus one of the gimbals.
