I saw this in an ad for Walmart for $298 this Saturday... http://www.walmart.com …0000006820330&cat=1026142 (external link)

Question, Is this worth $300? I am a Mac guy all my life but do have a PC and have WHS as well.. MY Mac is my main production machine loaded with CS3, LR, etc.... I have been looking for something portable but cant afford the $2500 MBP just yet. Mainly something for family use...i.e...Check email, internet, etc while on the road for vacations, but also need it to run Lightroom and CS3, or even CS2.. It wouldnt be a production machine by any means but would need to serve as something when I am away from my desktop.

Would this work or it is a waste of money?

It features a Celeron 575 processor which is an older single core CPU. Not bad for web browsing or word processing but for Lightroom or Photoshop use you might want to spend a bit more to get a multi-core CPU. $298 is not bad though, and at 10 units per Walmart store I think this is going to sell out. I think there will be better deals as BF rolls along.
