My first panaromic attempt

Used PTassembler and PS CS.
Panoramic shot consists of 4 photos.

Would welcome any feedback. Planning on getting this blown up and framed. Photo was taken of the Yarra River - Melbourne City Australia.

what technique did u use to blend the photo? give me some tips please, im still searching on how doing that very sharp n clear.. the panorama very nice!!.. u should get it into a frame..

Great Pic.

I like the fact that the sky and clouds are still visible, and all those colors.

Reducing the over exposure on the bottom left corner would make it even better.

Very nice Nabil. I believe that you can use just PS CS to assemble your panoramas. Something under the "merge" command, I think.

Incredible pic. What focal length did you use? In PSE 3.0 there is a Photomerge command that I use, I would imagine that there would be something better in CS.

I use the photostitch software which came bundled with my G5...seems to work better then the panorama option in PSE. Some images "confuse" the software, but it has a manual option. I love panoramas, and I like the ones show in this thread. Of course tripod with pan head always helps, but I often shoot without and get good results.

Great pano. Honestly much better than some of my attempts. Did you use a pano head on the tripod? I've been considering buying Panosorus for a while to improve the pano I may shoot. What was the final size of the pano? Btw if you are in Sydney and planning to print this out consider the guys at PixelPerfect. I haven't used them myself (though they are down the road from I am in Surry Hills) but the Lambda printers they use are supposebly great. And they can print up to 50".

I was in Melbourne last year on Anzac Day as a start of a trip to Great Ocean Road. I was planning to get some night shots but didn't get around to it. Very nice. How did you find PTAssembler. I used it on this panorama and got great results which were superior to Autostich or Canon. But it requires much manual processing in PS especially in terms of seams.

To bad I only had the 16mb card at the time, so I couldn't do any panoramics.

Flagpole, awesome shot of the 12 apostles, those are hard to capture, especially during the day I went. I got a fairly good shot of Philip Island though:

Flagpole, put simply, great pic !, your panaroma is both vivid and beautiful. I visited the 12 apostles about a year ago and had the opportunity of sleeping over in port campbell. Waited till late evening to catch the sunset and was up early morning to drive back out to the viewpoint to catch sunrise. Your photo brought back so many memories.

Darkhorse, even though ive lived in melbourne for the last year (originally brought up in Sydney), i havent had the opportunity to do the Phillip Island thing. Though from the look of your photo, CANT WAIT.

I just got back from CAMERAHOUSE who are my local photosupplies outlet (southland shopping centre) they have great service and excellent advice and printing services.

Take a look at the the final print. It measures 1.5m widthby 50cm height. I think i have my workflow pretty much down pat, as the final quality blew me away. My wife wants me to do more so we can fill up some blank walls. (hahaha)

As soon as i have a bit more time ill put together what i did to achieve my results (both shooting and post editing steps). I have to admit it is very much based on SCOTTIES advice and tutorials in combination with some tid bits ive picked up from tabawares panarama website). But ill try to put it all together into a tut of some sort with some screen captures to assist. Be happy to be able to put something back into these forums for all the advice and assistance ive received from others.
