Those really do not qualify as macro shots, just close-ups. It appears that the tortoise has been seriously overexposed as evidenced by the color fringing around the edge of the shadow and as a result the tortoise has very low contrast. Judging by the shadow color cast, it looks like the image has not been white balanced or else the lighting used in the light box is not homogeneous.

i never said that they were macro shots, i said i took the picture in a macro light box, and if anything the tortoise was underexposed, but when i edited the levels, thats what happened, and the light is just a plain desk lamp

They look out of focus to me here....and the exposure is not doing the beast any favors.

The background is just too stark, I feel, for the tortise....I would rather see it in a natural setting?

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

I would like to see Truffles up close. I like the three photos on a "seamless" background. I hope he got a few extra bugs for posing!

Don't worry, she always gets treats, but definetly not bugs, she would much rather have some fresh romaine, anyways here are some close ups.

I'd like to see the tortoise placed in the lightbox with an object to reference for size

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.
