I had the opurtunity to shoot ringside for World Premier Wrestling. This was my first real sporting event, i was pretty pysched.I found that i had to do plenty of running around the ring in a crouched position. Many times once I got to a position that I thought would be good the wrestlers repositioned and i had to move again. At other times i was in too good a position and had duck being hit by someone getting tossed out of the ring:shock: It was a really good learning experience.

I have to say that the lighting conditions were pretty good. Aside from the red reflections from the all red floor of the ring i think the pictures came out pretty good. I do admit my positioning and timing could have been better. C&C very welcome.

"This was my first real sporting event"

I'd hate to kayfabe a jabroni, but what you witnessed was a work, you see...

Nice shots. I think many of your vertical shots could benefit from an 8x10 crop instead of an 8x12. That said, your work looks better than what I remember reading in those old "Apter mags" as a kid. Looks like a fun shoot.

hahaha, well.... it's more sporting event than performing arts although there are plenty theatrics. I treated it like a sport event anyway!!

Forget the "sport or not debate" are the pics good??!?!?!

EDIT: just read the bottom... i was eagerly awaiting someone to tell me that this kind of wrestling was not a sport and while i totally agree.. i didn't think this belonged in the performing arts forum. Thanks for comments, i'll try an 8x10 crop

Na, I was just breaking your balls a little bit.

I shoot quite a bit of combat sports myself (MMA and kickboxing, mainly) so I know and respect how difficult it can be to capture the action with available lighting.

#8 is my favorite of the group.
