Mark II is great for RAW
Mark IIn is great with Raw and JPEGS
Mark IIn has a bigger buffer than the Mark II
The Mark IIn has a much bigger and better screen than the Mark II
Ive owned the Mark II and the Mark IIn, the Mark IIn to me had better performing autofocus.

Plus the MKIIn is earning a seriously good reputation for reliability, endurance and consistency.

Brief history lesson, the MKII had a few issues ~ 1DMKIIn was released in record time ~ the N version is the one to get, if you are connoisseur of these.

What were the Mark II issues that were fixed in the Mark IIn?

I noticed with mine I had more misses with the AF of the Mark II. I also noticed the spot metering was not entirely as accurate as it is with the Mark IIn.

AF and weather seals.

Were the weather seals defective in the Mark II? I don't remember reading anything from Canon about improved AF in the Mark IIn. Why would they release a new camera and not mention these improved features? Seems like a strange marketing strategy.

yes;they didn't; because cameras were dying of water damage and people hated the aa filter. and it was a great strategy, the world cup was just after the mkiin release, just as olympics were before mkii.

more info on 1: the viewfinder had a major design flaw that would allow water in quite easily, not to mention humidity.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

To me, the biggest improvement is the revised AA filter. My MkIIn images require much less processing than my MkII images did.

PS. And the rear screen! Gosh, I almost forgot how much I hated the MkII screen.

Thanks for all the info and replies. That clears a lot of things up. So I guess going from a 30D to a 1D class would be like a night and day change?

No, more like 9am to 3pm (if you are a college student). First is as drowsy and grumpy as possible, second is just grumpy.
