Surely you jest? =] The noise works PERFECTLY with these shots, love it. 1,4, and 8 are my faves but..they're all pretty creepy...and that name is no ray of sunshine either haha. Are they a local band or am I just falling behind on my corpses?

Yeah, they are a local band.

I was underexposing to compensate for the black outfits (while not blowing out the red channel on the masks) and to try and keep my shutter speed up a little...but I think -1 2/3 was a bit much. Well in #7 I didn't have much choice, that was at 1/50 135mm (ISO and Av maxed). Oh well, I just went with it and boosted the exposure and fill light in post to really bring out the noise.

I really need to get better at exposing for performers in all black (in Av mode). What do you guys use in a case like that? Center Weighted Avg? My only problem with CWA is that I'm not really quick at AE locking and recomposing. Maybe I should try bracketing sometime, like Dwight suggests.

What do you guys use in a case like that?

Av: Either (spot) meter on a face, and adjust FEC accordingly, or Evaluative, and adjust EC accordingly.

M: if the front lighting is (more or less) constant (which it is in a lot of cases!)

good set, 1 and 6 for me are the best. i agree that the blacks are pretty dense, but not much you can do w/ that, and it doesn't really matter in this case.
