OK, I give up. I will never get caught up...it says I still have 40 pages to read, I never caught up on Tuesday and did not check in at all yesterday ( I left home at 6:30 am and did not get home from Disneyland until 12 midnight).

That could be tough. I don't know what brand you are schlepping. But the biggest Hyundai dealership here sold 7 new cars last month. I know it's only Hyundai but they typically do about 250 a month.

He sells Hyundai.

They are closing the loophole today. There was a story on NPR this morning on how it came about and it all had to do with politicos inability to define what a child was so they left the law ambiguous listing it as just a child without tying any timeframe to it. They are changing it to 72 hours. Illinois has 2 weeks I believe.

Their idiotic legislature got what it deserved...

I am without a beard for the first time in many years. We have a national charity today with people doing all sorts of crazy things for "Children in Need". I flippantly said that I would shave my head to which someone said £20 if you shave your beard off, after some cajoling my secretary managed to get it to over £200 so the beard has come off.

For that big a donation to charity, I'd shave mine off too...

That's a riot! I had a friend who was in the Gulf War. And his letter to me said here's what it's like... Turn the furnace up as high as you can... sit in a really hard chair on top of the spin cycle of the washer (he was a helicopter pilot) then pound on your chest and repeat the following "dune, dune, camel, dune dune dune camel camel dune"

we heard it was too but had no idea just how much. It's okay though. It's our first vacation in over 3 years so it doesn't upset me as much as it would. I just was not even slightly prepared for the "extra" charges everywhere. You could spend $25/day just for parking places...that doesn't include admissions to anything. (or your cost for hotel parking) and that's just the beginning...but it was pretty to see once.

And yes we did take a lot of photos but really even though the guidebooks said that the Big Island was the place to go (less tourists)...it was crawling with tourists so the photos are just so/so. It's not a photographers holiday place by any means.

We also discovered that except for the small rainforest section and the aqua swimmable water (it looks very much like different sections of Oregon stuck on one Island). The sad part for me is that most of the Hawaiian culture has been swallowed up by various other cultures. The big island is populated mostly by whites and asians with a small population of native Hawaiians.

Hawaii was horribly expensive back in the 1970's. The Navy sent me out there several summers in a row. It got to the point that in a two week visit, I wouldn't leave the base at all.

And I have to say that 100% kona coffee is the best coffee I've ever tasted. It was like I'd never had coffee before. I even preferred their medium roast (instead of the dark that I normally drink) to everything I've ever had...I bought a lot and shipped it back to myself.
