Me too:)

Whip cracking competition. A ball is just boring without.

I see they are sitting at the "Crackers" table.

It is a fox chasing club. We are celebrating the 30th year of the club's master. Each table is adorned with a favorite hound's name. We got crackers:roll: Whips are used to keep the hounds in check by swinging or cracking them although cracking is not often done in the field. Nothing or no one is ever struck with a whip. By dangling the whip below the horses belly it serves as a visual reference so a hound or puppy does not walk under the horse. The handle is hooked for pulling gates closed. It is really funny to see the band and wait staff whisper to each other about the crowd.

Honestly, your exposures are very good. If I recall, rooms like this are best done with ETTL due to the dark and light areas and light fall off, but; I going by memory from Curt told me at the last reunion we shot. You caught a lot of background when needed with very little light fall off and without blowing out those in the foreground.

A few have some harsh shadows, but if you couldn't bounce flash I don't know how they could be avoided. Judging by the softer shadows on several it looks like you did bounce flash when you could and they turned out very nice.

The only real nit I have is several look like they need to be straightened, it could be the verticle lines in the background are through my brain off, that or too many spreadsheet this morning.;)

Thanks Becky. I played with the flash a bit. The harsh shadows are from me blasting people full on. I bounced a lot of shots and used the catch light card too. Obviously the bounced shots came out better. I was less confident in the bounce do to the high ceilings but I should have trusted what I know.
Some may need a bit of a straighten. With the lines on the walls and shooting at angles it is hard to tell sometimes.
Thanks for the critique.

hey! Guess what? I just got back from my neuro and because I'm doing so well, he's moved my appointments to once a year (for the first time since I turned 30)...I'm so happy!

Thats great Lisa. I know that feeling of getting your regular checks extended. (((Lisa)))

That would probably do it.

sigh...I've spent the last 20min (long for my attention span) trying to find an onion smilie...no such luck (well they have doofy smilies called "onion smilies" but they aren't onions)
