Reminds me of a story...
One of my Navy units became friendly with the crew of a Royal Navy submarine that was in San Diego for training. We were having a party at a private home and one of our guys mentioned to some of the Brits that there were some single women at the party. One of the RN sailors made the comment (and understand this has to be with a very heavy accent) "With me kinda luck, she'll be a 20 stone mud wrestler..."
clearly a 12+ pinter then!
I submitted this one for the first book:

I spent hours cleaning it up, getting rid of the noise and making sure the star trails were perfectly visible. It made into the book! And looked like CRAP in print...
yeah, that is one of my worries about my shots...how crap they will come out. I was pretty disappointed with this one, due to the noise level, but that is what happens when you don't have a tripod...otherwise i'd have submitted this one (but i know it looks crap the way it is):

That's it, I'm done. 10 photos submitted, a personal record!
oooh, very nice!!!
Hey, I could use a little help. I have one more pic I want to submit for the book but I have no clue where I should put it.
The picture is of my brother-in-law on the 4th of july just after he finally received his citizenship and is watching the fireworks for the first time as a citizen. I was thinking either:
a. family.
b. people
c. other?
d. don't bother, it sucks.
thoughts?
family, people or events...either catagory would be worthy of such a beautiful shot.
It did look terrible. Mine too (in that first year's book) I brought it up to the committee last year (used both yours and mine) as an example and request for print proofing better and the 2nd book shots seemed to look better.
Lets hope book 3 is better still...i am looking forward to seeing people's shots that are submitted....the competition should be very high!
