Okay the button has been pushed, stand back, I'm cooking dinner.

WOW!! Yours has a button. How fancy. :)

As to ancient cooking devices, we have an old old waffle maker. It was my wife's grandmothers so it's been in use for probably over 50 years. I did have to replace the cord but other than that it's cooking away.

My kids have named it Ol' Smokey because when we fire up that baby she lets the entire house know that waffles are-a-cookin' by puttin' out a fair bit of smoke and lots of great smells, and if you want yours hot get your tush out of bed and head on into the kitchen. It never fails to get kids out of bed. :)

Tiff, that 2nd one is adorable.

Cute kid you got there.

And it's not crap. *hands on hips in a motherly fashion*

Thanks. Again, I'm my own worst critic and I'm nitpicking them

And yeah... I can't count how many times while growing up, that the sound of the smoke alarm was followed by the words "Dinner's Ready!"

Sounds like my house when I'm cooking. Our stove is so old that it always smokes when cooking. I've diabled the fire alarm.

These are great Tiff. I love the future blackmail photos especially the second one.

Thank. I've got some where his little self was completely exposed...he didn't cooperate so well on keeping his business covered. :D

Crock pot question.
I can't say I have ever actually used any of the several crock pots I own. Does the dish reduce at all? It seems it will just cook slow and long but have the same liquid which means the flavors won't concentrate and the dish will not be thicker than it was at the start. I have loaded a crock pot with chili makings. I cubed some steak and browned it then lightly cooked the chopped onion in the fat. I will let the onion finish in the pot I just didn't want it to be too strong. I didn't do much research and I have no crock pot instructions. There is an option for a slow 8 hour cook I plan on using that.
Any input from crockpoters appreciated.

Mine will reduce a little but I do chili in it all the time.

I was thinking that but that requires watching it or at least monitoring it. I was really working toward pushing the button and going to sleep until it is ready

Sounds like my type of cooking.

We have one of those too, you just can't beat them for making waffles. So much better then those big Belgium ones. Our original that was my Granny's bit the bullet finally, but Lisa found one at a garage sale, totally gummed up. We cleaned it, seasoned the grills and it has been working great for us for over ten years now. Our kids always liked waffles better then pancakes. The best topping, a light coating of peanut butter, a drizzle of maple syrup and some thinly sliced bananas. Mmm....Mmm...Good. :D

Same here, the kids love waffles though they pour on the maple syrup and sometimes some fresh fruit. I actually like mine with grape or strawberry jelly and nothing else. Also they are great with just some powered sugar on them.
