Came across the TTV look the other day and some images people had posted on Flickr to layer with [thanks moth.to.flame on there].

I dug out a shot from earlier in the year that I'd shot, turned it to B&W, layered it, tweaked it a bit and then applied some high pass sharpening to finish.

What do you think?

I like it. They look like gears made out of stone.

Thanks a lot, they were certainly quite well etched from being outside in the elements a long time.

Through The Viewfinder? Like a picture taken through the viewfinder of another camera.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

MikeT is right; the 'proper' way involves taking a picture through the viewfinder of an old camera, such as a Kodak Duoflex, to get the framing effect and bits of old dust etc.

However, you can cheat by layering a plain 'through the view finder' shot over your own image. There are lots of these on Flickr and elsewhere that people have shot to let others do this - have a look at the group 'TTV dust' on Flickr for examples.
