I like it a lot. Great job on the whole thing, consistent lighting too!

You're comment made me laugh. To me, it's okay. It's good on occasion or if I'm craving it. The chips and guacamole are addicting though.

Recent shoot for one of the best traditional Italian restaurants in Milwaukee. Definitely getting better and better with styling and what not as well. Of course this was a 8 hour shoot for 6 dishes so I had the time. This shoot was an add on for a new website we're working on as well.

The lighting is spot on in these, as is everything else. I really like the attention to detail, especially with the background items.

A couple of dishes from restaurants:

New to this thread, but trying to step up my food photography game. Shooting mainly for restaurants, and most of them have wanted minimal/no props, so that the image concentrates solely on the food. I'm hoping to add some more editorial images for my portfolio on my own at some point soon that would include more staging/props. I need to find some good surfaces (old wood, etc.) to boost my repertoire.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on any active forums specifically pertaining to food photography and technique, I'm all ears. While I love sharing images and looking at others work, I really want to improve my work as much as possible, so I'd love to learn about the intricacies that really separate good images from great images (usage of mirrors, helpful tools specific to food photography, methods for creating steam, etc.). Any books that you could recommend would also be appreciated, as there seem to be quite a few on Amazon. Video tutorials would also be great (any out there aside from Penny De Los Santos for creativelive?). Basically, any good resources out there are welcome.

Feedback/criticism is always appreciated.

A few more. Again, critiques/advice always welcomed. dotcodotuk (and anyone else), please feel free to rip these apart. I'll learn a lot more from harsh criticism than I will from pats on the back or my mother putting these on her fridge.

Thanks ahead of time.

These all look great! The only nitpick I'd have would be to brighten/yellow up the yolks in the hard boiled eggs, as they currently look a bit dry/dead/unappealing.

Really though...great work.

Brunch today. Some french toast made with fresh brioche, sunny side up eggs, baked bacon with a little orange.

Really like all of these. I'm guessing window light for most of these? Great composition, the food looks good and is well presented and I like the angle of your shots.

These are some of the best food shots posted on this thread.
