I really like this but for one thing... I would need a tetanus shot after using that knife to cut the berries. :D

Hello to all of you
I'm new into this Forum so please don't go to hard on me.
First of all, i'm actually making videos of food (not really recipes ) we're trying to make so called "FoodPorn" vids.
And for all of them we have to make also some Thumbnails where we take usually the best shot.
I would really like to share the best ones with you and listen if you have some improvement ideas or critique !

This is the picture of our Chicken wing recipe video.

The Honey mustard wing recipe!
https://youtu.be/lDCk-JY3uPM (external link) (for all of those who would like to see it)

I'm not really proud about the picture but the video looks a little bit better.

Does someone have suggestions for improvement?

Sincerely
Mike

Highlights in food are what helps it look appetizing to me, & yours has some nice ones. But the brightest part of a image gets a lot of attention, so I'd be inclined to show a lot less of that basket. A smaller f-stop might have been nice, too.

maybe less sauce and show more of the wings. Just my opinion. I am just a beginner in this food shooting.

I agree with PhotosGuy that the basket is too prominent. In fact, I would get rid of the basket altogether. The chicken and sauce look appetizing, but the basket seems emotionally cold and industrial. Chicken wouldn't normally be served in a basket like that, and the basket design suggests deep-frying. ("Chicken in a basket" is something else entirely.)

The parsley is a good touch. It varies the colors.

Your focus point was too far away. On the left side of the basket, the sharpest part of the rim is almost at the far end of the food.

This one is too close. It took a few seconds to determine what I was looking at.

Is that the smallest portion of ketchup ever? Or is it some kind of specialty sauce?

Constructive criticism and editing always welcome.

Is that the smallest portion of ketchup ever?

Well, it's in proportion to the serving of potato.

Picked up a new to me but used EF-M 22/2 the other day. This is one of the initial shots, I'm not accustomed to the DOF characteristics yet I do like the depth. Will have to position the background elements appropriately. The joys of learning a new lens. ;)

I don't typically order hamburgers but lately these have been recurring cravings. LOL
