^^ You got the idea I was thinking! Dry Ice, plus the "smoke" last for enough time to experiment without producing more "smoke"..

Marco, I think the last shot might be the best. I don't care for the overhead shot, and the second seems a bit blown out in the highlights. All in all.... I would love to eat that dish :)

Mickee -- I really like that soft blurring -- that depth of field. Very clever on the "Aftermath of cake" photo!

My final edit for the strobist bootcamp. I think it's quite an improvement on the original.

QUOTED IMAGE

That is an impressive shot! Did you retake the image with different lighting or was it post processing from the original. If it was post processing would you be kind and share some of the techniques you used?

Thanks!

Blackvault

Thanks Blackvault. That was all done in post processing with Lightroom.

What I did was to increase the contrast, brightness and colour temp, fill and black clipping and lastly my clarity and sharpness amount sliders whilst decreasing Sharpness radius and dropping the Vibrance. I can't recall the exact figures that were used as I'm at work but I hope that gives you an idea of what was used to achieve this look.

DefJux -- That pizza shot is great! The lighting is really spot on and excellent contrast. That stringy cheese is making me hungry.

Great Images everyone. Really inspiring.
Special thanks to:
Macobee- beautiful-crab dish, well done
Blackvault- very nice image. Great composition and lighting. Really well balanced
Evilfooker- that sushi scene is very psychological. It feels that a whole story is unfolding...
