macobee, you just need to keep at it. Really try to push yourself with those tools. Shoot something that absolutely needs a fix and fix it. You'll only get better if you practice. And then you'll also find that as you edit more and more you'll find that your shooting also is improved because you see all the mistakes you made during the shoot while you are editing. And then on the next shoot you might not make that mistake again. Just keep trying!

I was out for a mate's birthday dinner last night. We had the suckling pig at Libertines and it was glorious. I have never had pork that was that good!

My first shot of this type. I had to get the high angle because I only had a little square of granite. Will have to prepare better next time! Also, the plastic cardboard is too ribbed and a little blue.

Taken with the Canon 70-200mm f/4L (non-IS) on the 5D MkII.

I thought the color was off too so I tried taking some of the red out and when I did that the blade of the knife didn't look right so I got fed up wth it. And I need someone to show me to properly use Photoshop

You'll need to alter the global colour temperature instead of just a specific colour range...in this case you'll need to lean toward a cooler tone.

Now to continue with the thread.

Do you shoot RAW? If so you can mess with the white balance in DPP
