I went out today for the first time with my 50d (1st time SLRr) with the equipment listed in my sig and realize I need a nice bacpack to lug my equipment around. Can anyone suggest a bag pack that can hold a Canon 50d w/50mm, 70-200mm L and a 300mm L lens plus other accessories and a monopod or tripod.

I'm considering the Tamrac 75 (5375). Is anyone familiar with this bag?

Thanks for the info.

Just realized there was a sticky on this subject. I will now go and read it but you still can provide suggestions though.

My apologies

Lowepro Primus ;) great for trekking and small trips :)

Fits easily my 5D with grip, 70-200 2.8L IS, 50 1.4, 17-35 2.8L, EF 2x, Lightmeter, 2x550ex, extra batteries and charger and still room to spare :) I own the Photo Trekker AW II also and because of all the padding in it, it does not fit more then the Primus.

That depends. Do you want to carry anything besides just camera gear? If you need to carry extra things for a day hike (snacks, the ten essentials, water bottles, first aid kit, light clothing, etc), take a look at the Lowepro Rover AW II. Here's a link...ignore the price (they're a lot cheaper):

I don't have on (yet) but the lowepro flipside 400 has sparked my interest. Mainly because of this review: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=592003

Method.
I have the Tamrac Adventure 75 (5375)
It is a well made, solid, comfortable backpack.
Well constructed
I do not any reason why the equipment listed will not fit.

Update: I purchased the Lowepro Flipside 400 AW. It can fit all the gear in my sig including the Sigam 50-500mm. I like to take all of my lenses with me because I never know what photo opportunity will arise. Plus the review of the Flipside 400 referenced in the post above convinced me that my equipment will fit.

In one photo without the Sigma, I can put my point and shoot camera in it or other lens if necessary. Below are some pics with the equpment placed in the bag. You can see the more intricate review details in thread referenced above.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

If you can take some pictures of you wearing the backpack with all the gears in, so we can get an idea how big it is?

How do you like it so far? too big?? just right?

Thanks in advance!

For just camera stuff, I have the Tamrac Expedition 5. They come as 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, depending on how much you want to carry. I thought they have better padding than the equiv Lowepro when I checked them out.

Tamrac Adventure series has a compartment for clothing above the camera compartment. Both can handle laptops.

Go to www.tamrac.com (external link) for photos and comparisons.
