These shots are from a recent outing to Rock Island State Park in McMinnville, TN. Beautiful area. A photographer friend and I tried to get there at dawn but a missed turn and unfamiliar roads got us there just as the sun was breaking over the horizon. I'll probably return for a re-shoot now that I've got a better lay of the land (knowing how to get there will help as well!).

I would appreciate some honest C&C here.

1. Twin Falls - This series of falls shoots out of the side of a cliff (no above -ground stream precedes it. It spills into the side of the river rather than running inline. Really neat falls.

Thank you for viewing and for any critique.

1. I love all of the little waterfalls on the right side of the picture, but the steam on the left really distracts your eyes from the colors.
2. I'm not really sure what to say, I think it is just too yellow for my tastes
3. Awesome, I love how it contrasts from the light yellows to the rich reds and greens and finally blends into a deep blue

I love the first shot. It's not like anything I have seen in a waterfall and you have fall colors on top.

The first shot is terrific. The fall colors, the mist from the waterfall, the side waterfalls -- very nice.

Ya better get your butt back there soon or you'll lose the colors.
Nice shot but better light would make it better, but you know that.

The 1st shot certainly has drama, but maybe seems like 2 shots in one - if split down the middle, I much prefer the mini-falls to the larger ones with the mist. When you return, could you centre on them and get some of the autumn colours?

The grey rocks in #2 provide some great contrast, just a pity the river's a bit too yellow, which leads us to

#3 is terrific, I really like the transition of colours!

Oh, and they're all way better than I could do!

...the little waterfalls on the right side of the picture...

I took a number of pictures of the stair step falls and somehow I just plain "got it wrong" and ended up throwing them out. The stairsteps really would make a great photo all by themselves! I think I was in too much of a hurry with the oncoming sunrise ...

You're right - gonna lose the leaves soon. Hope I can make it back. I'm not a member of the choir yet, but I do hope to sing with them someday. :) I'm still learning to read the music at this point (lots of sour notes at this point. Lovin' every minute of it - and then some though! But now I'm preaching to the choir, aren't I?

Thank you all for your comments/critique. Much appreciated.

Mark
