Which photo to "copy"?

Hi all.

I am on a school of photo journalism in Denmark, and we got this assignment which says that we are supposed to make a true copy of a photography. We are allowed to use every kind of manipulation and so on, but we have to shoot the things in the picture ourselves.
I don't like the idea of copying someone other's work, but well, that is the assignment we got.
And now to my question; which photo would be exciting to make a copy of? It has to be realistic, so not many people and so on..
I really can't figure a photo which would be fun to make a copy of. Any suggestions? Thank you :)

Sorry for my poor English - if any questions, just ask!

Best regards, Magnus

Do you mean that you have to recreate an existing (maybe well known) photograph?

If so, how about getting one of your friends to participate and see if you can approximate the famous Afghan Girl photograph from National Geographic?

I had a similar assignment in a photo course. We didn't need to make an exact copy but a recreation of a photo with the same feeling and design elements.

You could find pedestrian crossing and have four friends walk across like The Beatles Abbey Road album shot ;) Heck, if you were in the UK you could even head down to the exact Abbey Road crossing!

recreating is not copying so rest assured. Now if you had taken a picture of a picture it gets gray.

Anyway, check out this site. It has hundreds of photos arranged by decade. Just pick one out.
