A couple of shots from Jasper-Pulaski in North West Indiana. This was my first time out with my new 40D and Lenses. The area is filled with Sand Hill Cranes as they are gathering before heading south for the winter.
Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I was there last Sunday to check it out. There are definitely alot of Sandhill cranes out there.

What type of lens do you have? Where these cropped alot? When I was there last year 400mm was not even enough reach...Jeff

I was using my 70-200 and a 2x most of the day.
While I was there a couple of guys were shooting with 600's. It gave me a little lens envy for a couple of minutes  if you know what I mean.

Those guys will be down here in about a month. During the winter there are 1000's of the Sandhill Cranes all over the Rio Grande Valley. Down by the river in the agriculture areas you can walk up to the fences and be withing 150' of them or so.
