Sorry I did a search but could not find this info so I decided to start my first thread.

I am wondering if it is possible using Class 6:

1. 16 GB SDHC cards (with adaptor) and/or
2. 16 GB Micro SDHC cards (with adaptor)
3. of even their 8 GB versions,

with my:

1. EOS 5D Mk 1
2. Future 5D Mk 2
3. EOS 30D

I'm interested in knowing as these SDHC flash cards could double up to be my spares (they will be purchased mainly to be used with my cell phones).

Thanks in advance.

^^^^^^No - All three of the above cameras use Compact Flash (CF) recording media.

Sorry I missed that:o Though with the price of CF cards so reasonable now, I don't know why anyone would want to do that???

I don't think SD is used in any cell phone, only MicroSD. But MicroSD will be painfully slow compare to SD or CF.

Hi guys,

Thanks for reading and responding. So do you think either one of these SDHC cards will work on the 5D Mk 1? I have the latest firmware upgrade on my 5D Mk 1.

Hi Eelnoraa,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but class 6 micro SDHC cards were designed for video capture ie 20mb/s data transfer read/write speeds. That's sorta equal to say the Sandisk Extreme III.

So I guess it ain't that slow. I hope!
