Curious if anyone else is having this issue. Once its been opened on the first computer boot up its fine but that first start up takes as long as 15 ~ 20 seconds to load. I have very few add-ons. In comparison IE 7 loads in 3 seconds under the same conditions.

Same perception here. When first loading a page, not one that is really heavy in content, if you try to scroll up and down with the scroll bar, it is slow and sluggish.

There has been a very noticeable increase in load time.

Not so much in increased time in loading Firerfox itself, but many web pages load extremely slowly. Haven't been able to narrow it down to a particular type or content, but some are so slow that I can literally go for a cup of coffee while waiting and still wait longer while drinking it.

Yes, they made the same decision that Microsoft made about Word and Excel and Symantic made about Norton AntiVirus: to turn their application into bloatware!

I hate to say but if a fix isn't come up with I'm moving back to IE7 for the time being.

Seems Google brings up lots of others experiencing this too.

My FF 3.0 loads 7 pages at startup. If my connection (Comcast) is slow, which is becoming an increasing problem, FF 3.0 loads the pages slow. I've not seen an issue getting FF up though.

I can guarantee you one thing - the more it's mentioned the more folks there will be that decide they have the problem. It's human nature. And when you consider all the issues that might impact something like this that are independent of the program it becomes a daunting task just to factually document.

Dave - all true enough, but I have seen a noticeable difference when loading one page that loads fairly quickly in IE7 and IE8. In my experience, there is a definite problem but hardly enough of one to make me switch back.

It is not a figment of imagination nor auto-suggestion.

Firefox 3 is slow to load. There are reports of it all over the internet and within the mozilla forums itself. Mozilla has even provided a FTP link (external link) for those who wish to switch back to v. 2.

I have been using the same custom-designed news page as home page for years and years. I noticed a dramatic difference the very first time I loaded it into F3, and every time thereafter. I just never said anything about it here or in the mozilla forums for two reasons: (1) it's free. If I don't like it, I have other choices, and (2) there were so many people already complaining about it.

Here's (external link)1,430,000 google items from which info can be gleaned.

I did not say it was a figment of your imagination. What I said is that once mentioned human nature says that I have the problem too. It couldn't be the HD that's at 98% full, or the 1 gig of memory running Vista, or the 5 applications I have running with it. People have reported a problem with FF so that must be my problem too. All I am saying is that there is a lot that can cause slow response times.

I am not saying that FF could not have a problem.

could something be said about the color management function? Are the pages slow to load with CM turned on as well? I have not thought about trying it out yet...

Don't know, good point, tho. I personally never turned on color management so I know that's not what slowed me down. However, I do have one plugin installed (Flashget). Perhaps that, or other plugins, have added to the problem.
