TC problem with XM1

Hi everyone, as a newbie on this forum, I didn't find another topic about my problem.
My XM1 camcorder has trouble when filming. During recording, TC is running normally, when I stop everything is ok. when I start recording again, TC restarts at 00:00:00:00 then running.
When I look at the video formerly filmed, this TC break gives me dirty image, seems like stripes on it, and every two "stripes" the last image of the previous recording, and evry two others "stripes", the current recording.
Is that clear, you're still in ?
When I capture with FCP, digitizing stops when this problem happens.

Is it the "printing" of the TC on the tape which causes that ? Does the recording head defective ?

This camcoreder is 7 1/2 yo. Maybe it's normal ?

Have you tried running a head cleaner tape through it? I have had what sounds like the weird stripes you are talking about, a few times, and a head cleaner was the solution.

Thanks for answering Matt, it seems to be the solution, actually, I've found the answer looking at my cam book.
Ordered the cleaning tape, and just wait.
