You need to learn the basics of exposure... and lighting. Add to that focus. You need to learn the technical aspects of the craft. Do depend on the histogram get a meter.

i agree with the focus. i was stuck in pitch black trying to focus so it was a guessing game. most of my pictures were experimental on exposer settings, and moving the lights around and trying to get different results. im going to get a continuous light to try more things and play around more.

as for the settings what do you think i should do. if u click on the link in my first post u can see what my settings were at on the right.
