Anyone else had this? I purchased some 8x10 frames and none of them fit. The prints have extra space on all sides.

Is there a specific frame meant to hold these? The actual Image printed measures 8x10 so it makes sense to have a little extra on the sides for mounting in the frame.

Sorry, I don't quite understand - are the prints too big for the frames, or vice versa?

Usually mattes are cut 1/4" or so shy of the actual dimensions.

IOW an 8x10 matte will be 7.75 x 9.75 or there abouts.

The paper dimensions are irrelevant provided you have enough slack to trim and have a "handle" for mounting.

If you want to insert them into an actual 8x10 frame then the short answer = Paper Cutter.

Alright that makes sense. The actual printed image is 8x10, then there is the excess paper, thats what makes all mine too big for the frame.

Ive got a feeling everything thats printed is like this...ugh

hmmm... I've had some prints come back from my lab that were just a hair bigger than an 8x10, but nothing quite like what you're showing there. You photographer may have accidentally ordered the wrong size and didn't even notice, or it could be something the lab did. I would just contact the photographer and tell him/her what's up, it's probably something they didn't even notice. Are all your 8x10s like that?

Actually, looking again at the picture you posted, it really does look more like an 8.5x11, which is the same size as your standard sheet of paper. Something just doesn't seem right here...

Your photog printed them and then didn't trim them all the way down to the image so that you would have options. You can always trim off the excess if you are going to put them in an 8 x 10 frame. If you are going to matte them, the excess will be welcome.

What is matting them?
