Question! What is the actual size of the flashheads for both the 580exII and 480ex series as I don't have them on me and I am trying a DIY project for fun on this holiday Monday. All the dimensions shown online show the overall dimensions of the flash itself.

All I need to know is the dimensions of the flash itself on each of the speedlites.

Digital: Canon 5D2,5Dc,40D
Film: Yashica FX-2
Lenses: Canon 35L, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, and Canon 135L
