Heheh, Scott, it's both a good and a bad thing all at the same time.

You either get money or time to shoot.
Can't have it both ways....unless you're a pro.:D

Just because we need a bump back to the top. What is the next get together, the Bassilica in Covington? You guys think we need to get an online calendar to keep track of stuff? I know I can put a basic html calendar on my site for us to use.

Sounds like a good idea Joe, if you don't mind hosting it. Thanks!

Why don't we just use a Google Calendar? It's free and no one has to host it. We can also import the calendar into Outlook/Outlook Mobile and other programs. Just a thought.

Here's a quick POTN calendar on Google.

Clicky here!!!! (external link)

I can add permissions for those who want to add events or we just could limit it to 4 or 5 people who will be the "keepers of the calendar." What y'all think?

I like Kevin's idea better. The google calendar would probably be easier.

My orginal thought was that we could put in dates for certian events in the area that might be photographicaly interesting, ie. the Butterfly Show photographers only day or similar type events.

The other thing that I was thinking was that poeple could mark thier availablity for a date, for example I know what weekends I am scheduled to work from now till the end of the year, so I could mark those dates with my name and "Busy" or something like that. That also makes it easier to figure out a date that works for the majority of the group.

I am up for whichever you all choose. Joe, I agree it would be nice if we could all mark when/if we are available. But maybe we could just use this thread for that. *shrug*

There's also the Ohio POTN Facebook page, too.

If y'all want to send me your e-mail addresses, I'll add you so you can change the Google calendar. You can either PM or e-mail me with them. Thanks.

I think the google calendar is the better way to go if it can be viewed by the public, but only changed/edited by certain people so others that ready the Cincy thread here can go look at the calendar.

I think the calendar would be better for keeping track of whats already planed and make planing easier because as the thread grows looking through the post for links to different stuff or find dates will be a pain in the a!!#. Especially if we plan something a few months in advance like the train trip I mentioned a couple of pages back.

We can use the thread to throw around ideas, discuss things and work out details then put the details in the calendar. Then if a new POTNer find the post they can just look at that (assuming a few of us put a link to it in our signatures). Would also be handy for sharing info on stuff with POTNer's from other parts of Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana.

I know I think about things way to much sometimes, but thats my 2ยข worth.
