I tried it out with my son a while back, but never posted the results. I was too preoccupied with my focus issues. I want to switch to another new color (sand!), so I finally had to force myself to get my daughter down there before I take it down and move on. It's really hard for me to get the lighting right when she's moving all over the paper, it's ridiculous. I got lots of great shots, all with the wrong exposure. The ones that ended up being usable were pretty hot and I had to bring them back quite a bit.

5. Not sure how I feel about the warm tone here, but this was really overexposed and it was really bright without it.

With the dark hair and dark background you reallt need a kicker and/or hairlight for separation. Other than that these look great. On number 4 it feels a little crowded.... more room above her and a little on the left and right will help.

I REALLY like #4, but do agree w/Dermit that a hairlight would have really been cool. Great shots overall Andrea! She's a cutie!

Unfortunately I don't have any more room below, so if I don't crop close up there it wrecks the composition and her eyes land in the center of the frame. I have all the headroom in the world, just no way to use it. I worked on that one for a long time trying to figure something out, but it just wasn't meant to be. :(

your kids are so cute :) very cute shots :) love the one of your son with no eye contact.... even though the eye contact would have made it so much more it is still a really great shot.
