Aside from getting on a ladder and lighting the group from sides and center, does anyone have any suggestions on posing the group, ages 8-18. This is the largest swim team I've had to work with. I will be using a 17-55 IS on a 40D...that is if I don't have fogging issues (inside pool)...and to (I hope)prevent that I'm putting the camera in a ziplock bag and allowing to come to room temp....it's cold here in PA today, around 40 deg.

::UPDATE::
Well, I used a different pool in the same building lastnight and it worked out OK...There were 90+ swimmers...I would have preferred to have several smaller groups but the Coaches wanted one large group.

Shoot them panoramic, that way you can spread them out and they will be larger in the photo. Will be a little work in the processing but I have done this a football program and it worked out nicely.

Thanks....I know what a panoramic is, but can you explain, especially PP steps. Would it be similar to an HDR image. I thought that no matter how I did this that the heads would all be very small on an 8x10, considering there were over 90 people.

Check the horizon... compare the tops of the left and right doors.

Looks like you corrected most of the tilt in the 8x10 poster.

Maybe it would look more balanced if the tallest swimmers in the top row were centered.

I have a different swim team shoot today at 4pm at the location I went a couple weeks ago that fogged every piece of my equipment (inside the lenses).

Someone from that Y just called and said that it's even worse now, that parents couldn't see their kids in the pool yesterday....and to think they already updated the ventilation system.:mad:
