Hi All,

Really keen on getting feedback on this shot if possible. I wanted to concentrate on the intimacy of the relationship between the mum and the baby (she was around 2 weeks old at this point).

I purposefully focused on the hands rather than the baby’s eye and I think that works well - but what do you all think? Apart from the grey conversion, the image is un-processed......does it work? Or is it simply lost because the focus is not on the baby’s eyes?

Many Thanks for any C&C

I love the idea.. but then again.. I'm not sure what to think of it. The hand seems a bit masculine. I don't know whether it's just me but I think the color conversion does not do the skin tones justice, giving the hand and the baby's face a certain rough look. I also find the white sheet a little bit distracting. But putting the focus on the little hand expresses your idea quite well I think.

I don't like the hue of the conversion, but the concept is sweet.

I think if you had elevated the camera and changed the angle so you would pull in more of the baby's face (both eyes) this shot would work better.

Thanks all - I agree with all of it. I know there is some work to do on the idea and yep, the hue is just too "pink" I guess. Thanks again guys.

OK - maybe not pink, but deffinately "redish" in the converstion. I'm going to dig out the original, but I think if I remember rightly it wasn't in RAW as I'd reset my camera settings....but I'll check and see what I can do.
