GBH Mating Season Begins, and a Tricolor in the surf

To everyone's surprise, the Great Blue Herons have started mating in earnest already! It's at least 3 weeks earlier than any of us have ever seen before. Anyway, here are a couple GBH shots from the world famous Venice Rookery (about an hour from my house), and a Tricolor in the surf on a cloudy day at Fort Desoto.

WOW the first and last shot are stunners. Very nice work.

All great shots, but that last one is incredible. His coloring is perfect and that BG of the surf is superb.

That's a neat behaviour/pose in the 1st image, who cares about the red berries anyway?? ...I like the 3rd image with the big wave in the b/g, effective use of flash I think...
