When I switch from using 96 to 120 DPI fonts in Vista to make screen text more readable on my 17" laptop monitor running at a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 there is a problem with the text next to all checkboxes and radio buttons in CS3 Bridge.

Has anyone seen this before, and if so, is there a work-around ... or do I have something that I need to set differently in Bridge?

I think if you check, you'll see that it's not just CS3 that's affected. The new size is apparently just too large to fit in the space allocated for text on the dialog boxes. Try a little smaller size, or try changing the font size in the boxes themselves. Not sure how to access it in Vista, but in XP it is under display properties/appearance/advanced. there you have a much wider range of size adjustments, including the fonts themselves. Maybe someone with Vista experience can chime in? Another option is to avoid the problem entirely by leaving the font size alone and installing the Cleartype tuning wizard from Microsoft. It can help make your screen fonts more readable: http://www.microsoft.com …cleartype/tuner/tune.aspx (external link)

Thanks Jim. When I looked at all my other apps and saw that Bridge was the only one exhibiting the problem. I didn't clue in that it was because the Bridge developers didn't leave enough room for this option.

Vista does allow for different scaling of the 96 DPI size, so I'll try to pick something that will just fit.

After a bit of trial and error it looks like 111 DPI is the largest you can go before the text beside the checkboxes and radio buttons overflow the allotted space.

Sure be nice if Adobe could take the standard Large Scale 120 DPI into account the next time they update Bridge. :)
