Do you mean UV filters? I'm glad you got this sorted out. I hope you continue to get good pics. B+W and Hoya both have good filters, Tiffen isn't horrible either.. If you plan to buy NDs and Grads, etc, you might want to consider the Cokin P series, or some other filter kit with square filters. Good luck.

I want a UV and CPL. I guess Hoya is a good brand to buy. I'm just trying to figure out what model/line to buy. There's a few different ones to pick from. I was just wondering it anybody had specific experience with any of them.

wow!! good for you ;)

for UV I use either Hoya or Kenko, I have very very good experience with the Kenko Zeta on my Tamron 18-270. it costs me $60 but its slim and has almost no flare even shooting straight up at the sun.

avoid sunpak, I have 2 filters made by them and are not really flare resistant..

Ha, Steve cant stay away from this thread ;)

haha of course!! I would've use this lens if it could only fit on my d700... I do have a ton of photos that I haven't posted here yet.. I could still be actively posting photos here well beyond 2011 hahaha.

you know, my 500D+18-270mm combo took maybe around 30,000-35,000 photos in 8 months :D...

Thanks! I really love this lens -- didn't bother taking my wide angle out of the bag.
