30D display issue... please help

I have a Canon 30D it is about 18 months old and has been used lightly, never abused or dropped. The LCD display when turn on shows lines or weird colours or a distorted image most of the time and on a rare occasion it will work normal and display images and settings. When downloaded the pictures all seem to be good.

Appreciate any thoughts?

You aren't wearing polarising sunglasses are you?
If not, it sounds like it's knackered to me.
You could try pulling both batteries temporarily in case it is some software glitch, but I don't hold out much hope.
