On a trip in search for birds.. i encounterd a Fox in the Field that was attacked by a Bird?

From a distance from approx 300mtrs i used the 40d With the 100-400 IS USM + 1.4TC.. even with this combo i was forced to cropp to aprox 50%.

The autofocus was not able to make a decent focus... (not enough light)!

So i had to go manually....

Is this shot acceptable?

Comments are welcome!

No sure I understand what you mean. They are not overexposed, not underexposed, not oof. Its a neat set of shots and not something you could not plan for. I think you did a good job jumping on the moment and getting something unique.

:D My goodies

Looks neat to me :)

I missed a great shot last year of two Turkeys beating the living @*#&! out of eachother and I was able to get only 15 feet from them. It was so dark though and my kit lens on the old XTi made for really badly underexposed pictures. My inexperiance was also largly my fault :) That and it happened so quickly and was over quickly, my n00b skills were just too n00bish to keep up :D

Great series though, looks very good!

I am considering a 120-300 2.8 Sigma with a 2x for 600 5.6! But i am afraid that the lack of IS will and a must use for a tripod will be a drawback!
