Weight is somewhat of an issue on bad days, on those days I just slap the cheapy 28-105 lens on and go and it's normally fine if I take it very easy. The 200 gets heavy even on good days. I can go out into the yard to shoot birds and have to come in after only 30 minutes of so. Hiking or walks no way could I bring that. I've been trying to get out more, so less is more in that aspect.
I do worry about one day having to downgrade, but I think I'd downgrade to a rebel and keep the 28-105 for light stuff.
One major issue right now is the whole prime vs zoom thing. I really prefer primes in my shooting but lately I've been needing the ease of the zoom. But the zooms are so much heavier I'm not sure what to do. I was going to try the 70-200 f/4 IS and sell the 200, but I'm not sure about the focus speed and missing the 2.8, and there is no way I can handle the 2.8 IS (and yes I'm thinking I'm going to need IS sooner then later on the longer lenses.) I'm thinking of the 24-105, but the one I borrowed I wasn't too happy with. It came very close to my cheap zoom for 90% of the shots I was taking. Plus it weighs a lot more. The 400 I bought I sent back (I live 3 hours from a good camera store) due to the weight. I had tried one two years ago and loved it and couldn't wait to buy it. And now with my back I was so sad to have to send it back! So now I just have to shoot my little birds in my yard. I'd have to say my health is one thing making me think twice about this. But I really want to try to think positive and not worry about that until I need to.
Oh and witht he blu-ray, yeah we have a small HD tv, the digital TV we get from the antenna is a cleaner image then what we get form our DVD player! We would like to upgrade since we do watch a lot of movies, but the good thing is we only own about 20 movies, none of which we'd really consider upgrading. And with the sound system, yeah, we may have to do that at a point, but for now the TV alone is fine since sometimes noise bothers me. I'm pathetic I know! ha ha! I feel like I'm 75 years old!
