A research mission turned into a purchase. Best Buy has the XSi/450D with 18-55 IS kit lens "on sale" for $799. Went to Amazon to price check after reading some posts here and just purchased:
- New XSi with 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS kit lens ($637.42 if purchased by itself. 20% off)
- Transcend 8G SDHC card
- Canon 55-250 f/4.0-5.6 IS.
With that I got this free:
- Shipping
- Tiffen 58mm UV protection filter (Don't know of the quality, but it's free)
- 1 year subscription to Wired magazine.
- $100 discount on the 55-250 lens since I purchased it with the camera.
All that for just a hair under $800. It's all in stock and supposed to ship on Wednesday.
I could have added a tripod for under $18 (discounted), but I'll add that to the wish list. I already have a tripod, but not a light-weight one with bag.
