Thanks geoff.curtis. Is the ocean up there really cold by now? Or is it still warm enough to swim in shorts? Some of the surfers here are already suiting up in long sleeve shorties in the mornings.

I think I can speak for Geoof and say the time period for shorts is about ten weeks for the brave...I live even further north in Southern Maine, water temp is 50 degrees fahrenheit.
Personally, my favorite shots are 4 and 6, great job with all of them though.

Quite a few actually. If you have something like 200mm with a 1.4 extender then you can go to Kahului Harbor along the jetty and have some fun taking pics there, or Honolua Bay on the cliffs above the surf spot just to name a couple. If you have gear with more reach then you can go to Ho'okipa Beach Park and shoot wind surfers, or surfers if there's no wind. But do check the local surf reports before heading out though.

If you go during the summer, then the breaks on the south side of Maui like Olowalu, Lahaina and Maala'ea is where you should check.

Thanks pmdcm! Yes, all shots were taken with 600mm, no extenders, cropped from ~20-30%. All photos were taken the same day, from about 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Nicely done for sure. Love the water color and action. Don't know how true it is. I was with Kelly Slater last weekend. We did not talk about it, but people are saying he is not surfing the Triple Crown this year.

Awesome, thanks for the help

It'll be with a 70-200 f/2.8 lens. But I'll definitely check it out.
