Wonderful shots!

Very small crits:

You probably realized while shooting that 1//640th is too slow, 1/800 and 1/1000 is probably necessary...

If I had a 400mm 2.8 I would've used that instead. The background isn't as diffused as it could be...just a TAD bit distracting.

But awesome shots nonetheless.

1/640 works for night football in a lot of places. I have used 1/640 almost all year. But was able to get 1/800 most of the night this time. I only had 1/640 for the endzone as they are slightly darker.

Ya, if I had 400 I would have used it but all I have is the 300. The 70-200 was used for the blocked punt and endzone shots.

Thanks for taking the time to comment

These are very nice Matt. I'm surprised the light wasn't better. I would think you could get 16/640 in the big stadiums but I guess not. You shutter speeds are fine I would not have increased the iso to get more.

Thanks...

I was content with 1/800 and being able to lower my ISO some. As mentioned I had the second camera at 1/640 because the lights were slightly darker in the endzone.

The lights at Texas Stadium were not overwhelmingly bright. The difference was they were very consistent across the field and and various angles helping with faces.

I dont consider HS football to be an extremely ''fast'' sport. I would love 1/1000 but i chose to not push that and expose to the right for the best final image.
