I did this shoot this morning for a co-worker at my day job - am hoping he will love these and share them with others and then, more gigs for me ;) So any tips on how to make these better would be much appreciated.

This was a bit of a challenge for me - I don't have a lot of experience with flash - I usually only use natural light, but it was very gloomy today and they wanted some pictures inside so they could include their cat. Fortunately they did have a covered porch so we got some shots out there.

I don't think I'm qualified enough to give technical critique but I think you have done reasonably well. The brick wall background while not pretty gives the pictures a homely feel imo, which works well in this instance.

The group photo inside (with cat) is nice, however the composition is a little off with a bit too much unused frame at top left for my liking and the top of the mans head just cut off.

These are just my opinions of course so I hope they will be some help to you.

I think you did good, they will probably love them. I love 2 and 3. I agree with Daz about the last one. If it's cropped can you get the man's head back and try more of a square crop on it? I love your version of #3 but Ive been trying out new conversions so I had a quick play. Please let me know if you want me to remove it and I will.

Melissaandkris, that's a really nice conversion! More of a square crop on the last is probably a good idea - or will happen if they order an 8x10 at least - and I think they will = they said that one's their favorite.
