After wanting to see this sport for quite some time, I finally had the opportunity to shoot bull riding. Before I saw it, I always thought that anyone who will tie himself to a bull certainly commands my respect. Now I can say that I would walk on as an NFL running back before I sat atop one of these animals. Most of the riders were young cowboys in their teens or early 20's (the older ones can no longer walk). As far as my experience with entertainment/sports events goes, these people were tops: very helpful to me as a photographer. They would position me anywhere I wanted to be. Here are a few shots from a great evening.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Like I said, it was a great evening. I'll be there next year for sure. Hammer, I remember seeing some of your excellent rodeo photos in the past.

That first shot is definitely amazing. I kinda like #4 too...the look on his face shows quite a bit there I think. Great photos!!!

The more I view that first image, the more I like it. I mean alot.

I'm wondering what it would look like if possible, to use some kind of blurr effect or motion and make it look like the bull is snorting from the nostrils.

I'm sure somebody would take the challenge, and I would LOVE to see the edit. I tried the liquify tool and then some glassian blur and I got close to what I was thinking of.

Is that from the National Finals? What is the bulls name?

Thanks again ,
Chuck
