I don't mean to be critical, though it will sound that way. I don't know that it's your take; this shot has been done so many times that it's almost cliche by now. I would also tell you that your lighting is too harch and contrast is much to high. This shot should have a soft appearance about it. Lastly, the heart shape is much more evident if you place the ring higher in the Bible. Indeed, I wouldn't even include the bottom of the pages in the shot. All for what it's worth.

Agreed that it's been done before. But the couple doesn't necessarily know that... My suggestion would be that if you're going to do it, as Peacefield suggested, move the ring higher on the page, and make the resulting heart-shaped shadow more distinct by using a less diffuse lighting source and go a bit easier on the sharpening.

Not only that but use the 'Love' verses. 1 Corinthians 13. 'Love is the greatest gift'

thanks for the comments you guys. again, this is MY take on this type of shot -- i know its been done a zillion times :). the bottom of the bible was intended, no flash, just a lamp behind the Bible. contrast and sharpening were applied in post -- to my liking.

it may not appeal to everyone, but i like it and just wanted to share and get some C&C, keep em comin! ;)
