Will Photoshop CS2 (which I think was only offered in 32 bit) run on a new 64 bit system? Please only answer if you have actual knowledge of this as I'm about to push the buy button and want to be certain!

Yes, no problem at all. It installs into the "Programs Files(x86)" library with all other 32bit programs.
