Dammit... I'm trying to keep my composure right now!!! Someone broke into my house and stole my camera gear minus the tripod. Other things got stolen too but it's just material and fortunately, no one got hurt.

I know this is a shot in the dark, but please watch out for these items (all less than 6 months old) Black Canon Bag, D-Rebel /w hack (S/N 211160439507/2187243635), Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 S/N 89000750, wireless remote, 1 real canon battery and 1 clone, and all does not come with original boxes, warranty cards, etc.

Thanks,

James

well that blows and it is a long shot that you're going to get your stuff back, aside from insurance money and whatnot. This does however serve as a good reminder to keep all the serial numbers of your stuff in a save place :-)

When the government leads, the others follow. (stealing, that is)

Sucks but if you have insurance, look at it as an opportunity to upgrade??? : )

Sorry, I know it's no fun. I'd be very pissed about the whole thing, including the repairs.

Thanks for stopping in and having a look.

I heard a rumor once than Canada may not be the only country on Earth where theft sometimes occurs.

I've actually had this happen with my first canon camera. A guy comes into my bedroom steals my Canon Powershot S110, my Canon Zr20 Camcorder, all the flash cards I had and my favorite jacket ( I guess to hold the stuff ), My Wallet, etc and so forth, worse of all he was doing this 4 feet from my backside while I slept. I'm hearing impaired so I cant hear, turns out it was a neighbor that stole it, was arrested, but I never did get my stuff back or any kind of monetary compensation. Its always messed up they get hit with jail time, but its of no compensation to me, especially if they dont have money to cough up even to a court order.

Course this lead to me getting a G3, which later a rebel, only thing I've had stolen since that time was my Canon i860 printer, when someone guess knowing I worked at the store smashed thru the car to get it out while I ran back inside.

Oh also my very first camera ( before that canon ) was a Kodak DC3200 , was stolen when I kicked a roommate out. So as you can imagine with my Digital Rebel right now, I'm extremely paranoid.

Also I'm in Grand Rapids, Michigan, thats close enough to canada to have an impact right?

Thanks for the comments all,

Yeah, I got other stuff stolen. My nice Focal Utoipa drivers (33WX and ATLR). They even stole the nice wooden boxes that came with the tweeter (ATLR).

The TV and comps and other stuff was about to go too, but fortunately, we came home half way into their act. There was no confrontation, they just took off like a bullet. I hope they don't come back and finished off the job. The cops (5 in total showed up one by one within 10-15 mins after the call - now that's good service!) said they probably spent 30 mins searching for stuff, my whole TH was a complete mess. I still feel super pissed and violated. And to further add insult to injury, they even took my 5 year old/absolete Fuji 1.3MP camera and Nike back pack (probably to use for small items). Damn bastards!

About 5k worth of stuff were stolen.

I feel sorry about the other guy who just got his stuff stolen too, thread somewhere in this forum. It sucks.

Yeah, maybe I'll go for the 20D. I had lots of fun with my D-Rebel, especially with the macro lens. I love DSLR! I don't know if I'll buy a new DSLR in the meantime. I hope I can recoup most the $$$ and just downgrade to a P&S. Nothing good is happening to me lately, I think I'll just save the $$$ for a rainy day. ARrghh!

James

James--

Well, just like with PR you have my wishes that things will get back to normal for you in a hurry too. Good news that no one was injured when you surprised the thieves.
