Na, they are cramming more process stuff down our throats here at work. It’s the “here is how we can do more with less” song and dance.

My power went out at 2:30 am came back on at 7am, my house was at 50° this morning. It is very hard to get the kids ready in darkness. And my daughters uniform was in the washer but needed drying still, got that done and her to school with a minute to spare. My UPS woke me up when the power went off so I got up to shut the computer off, the printer was on, all the routers and monitors were on but the computer was off. Go figure the component that needs to be on the ups was the only item not plugged into it.

At least the gas water heater works without power, so I got a nice hot shower this morning. Got out and thought my eyesight was failing me, but alas it was the steam from the hot shower and being so dark still really had me for a spell.

We live in a location where power outages occur frequently. A few years back I picked up a gas generator. It’s not one of the automatic ones, but it is big enough so that I can at least power the furnace until the house gets warm and keep a few lights on as well. In the summer it’s saves us a couple of times as I need to run my sump pumps or I’ll get a bunch of water in the basement.

Thanks Adam! I was wondering if anyone here saw that :D

The thread I started in the Competitions area has taken off too. 1300 and some posts with 137,000+ views. :D It's a hot topic, that's for sure.

uhh... you're welcome? LOL. the-digital-pic is one of my regularly read sites. I haven't signed up for his forum, I don't have enough time for this one let alone two! LOL but I did check out your thread since he made such a big deal out of it LOL we all knew the pic was a winner even before he said so.

uhhggg. . now I have to get to work.

Hey all, I finally brought my laptop to the mac-authorized place. They said they'd try to open the disk space on front to allow disks in and out so that I wouldn't have to replace the whole bottom case. They also said that if my disk drive itself was bad that it's still under warranty because I got the extended plan, and that they'd call me in the next 48 hours to tell me if they got it fixed and what the price is.

Other than that, I spent 2 hours finding out that Best Buy, Radio Shack, Ritz and Major Mac don't have an HDV cable for me to download my videos to my laptop. The camcorder came with the cable for loading PICTURES, but I don't need that. So, does anybody know where I can get an HDV-to-USB cable?

I'm not jealous. I'm also not looking forward to moving to another town at the moment. Not that it's that far. I think I'm going to miss living so close to the power station and being one of the first to get the power back if it goes out. Ah such is life.
Anything interesting near you to shoot? I have snow dusted fields right now and they're not that interesting imo.

Um which station do you live close to? Not Lasalle, Braidwood or Dresden.
