That's a nice little series there Tiff - so serious to laughing. "Uh oh, I got caught! Haha, just kidding."

Usually water coolers have a graphic card block as well. The CPU and the graphic card are the noisiest fans in the system.

Tiff: Those are great pics. :):):)

you think? that fan is almost as big as the graphic card

Well it sounds like you have the whole decision under control. This is one of those life decisions where you need to just make it and be happy with your choice. I love programming, and when I went from doing it as a 'hobby' aka just-for-fun to having to do it every day for work. it did change, however it is still 'fun' I don't do much in my free time as I used to. but that is all fine with me, i have plenty of other hobbies that I can spend my time with. I have several sets of analog multiple choice decision making devices if you need me to roll one for you I will. but it would probably (no pun intended) be better for you to figure it out on your own.

that's my 2c.

After sleeping on it, I think I'll go for it. I love diving and I would definitely be learning a bunch. Thanks for the input :D

My mom has some fortune sticks but they tell me nothing useful. Too bad I don't have my uncle's magic 8-ball ;)

Is the training being offered for free or is someone else paying? I'm of the mind that if all I need to do is invest my time and someone else is picking up the cost, I take the training especially if it's in a field I have interest in. You never know where it's going to take you and if you find that it is not what your looking for, you can stop then. From what you wrote up there sounds to be very little in the way of downsides and a lot of positives. Give it a shot and see where it takes you.

Nope, folks taking the class pay for it. Because it is part of an instructor program I won't be getting a discount on it either but the price isn't soooo high that I can't afford it. I always look for chances to learn for free. I'm lucky in the fact that I'll be able to have the other dive cons and my boss as mentors. Other certifications, such as fill station op. and pool op. are covered either somewhat or entirely by the shop. Thanks for your input as well :D

Yay! Do you think extension tubes would be a logical choice for my gear set up, should I try to find a refurbished 100 macro or should I practice macro with my 24-70 in the meantime?

Yeah I doubt I will regret this sale though. I miss that 135 too much :) Looking at getting it again. We'll see. I want to get a used one so I can get more stuff with the leftover $$$ :)

I've confirmed 4 more weddings over the past couple days. Woohoo! :D

Yeah I have owned it before and regrettttttttttttttt selling it. Dumbest thing ever.

I agree 100% on the 5D2 option. That's fantastic.
