Well that's not good!

I had a photo shoot last week, and I think it went pretty well. Then Hubbs and I went on a get away, and had a great time over the weekend. We went to Salt Lake and Park City. Saw some inspiring galleries there.

Did anyone hear about the bus crash in Idaho on Saturday? That was my high school, and my cousin was on one of the buses, she's on color guard. Our marching band was on the way back from the regional competition, which they won, and one of the 4 bus drivers blacked out and a instructor went to grab the wheel, she was thrown from the bus and was killed, but everyone else was saved. The bus came to rest feet from a larger ditch so several people involved feel like she saved lives. Many students were injured, and three had to spend the night in the hospital, but everyone's going to be OK. My husband teaches a Sunday school class and three of his students was in the caravan of buses, but none on the bus. They were all pretty shook up yesterday. There's been an amazing pour out of support locally for the family of the killed teacher and for the students traumatized, and grieving, it's been amazing to see.

Whoa.. glad most are ok but sad about the teacher. How horrible.

WoW Kay that's quite the story. Any reason why the driver blacked out? So sorry an instructor had to die, she does sound hero worthy.

It is very sad she had to die, but what a hero. They say the bus driver had a medical condition and that she'd been complaining of related pain earlier in the day. Another source (not news related) rumors that she had severe abdominal pain and that's why she passed out. Another bus driver was too shaken up to finish the drive (about another three hours) and they had to wait for a replacement driver, as well as I'm sure another bus. The accident happened at around 7, and they didn't get back to the high school until 1 AM, and then didn't get home until 4 AM. Then lastnight they held a vigil in the high school gym, and there was standing room only.

Thanks. Today was supposed to be his third surgery, he's sailing along right where he should be, but the surgeon left town to go fight the health care reform thing, and I get the feeling he left his patient in the ICU without a plan or even a understanding of which doctor in his practice will pick up for him, so they're just pushing him back until they get around to him, and I'm MAD.

He's sedated on the same meds that Michael Jackson died on (MUCH lower doses) cause he's on a ventilator and they need him to be sedated, but as soon as he's stable from this third and hopefully last surgery they said they'd take him off. So WHY should we postpone that when he's showing NO signs of needing to wait at all for more surgery? OH joys. I get to go raise a ruckus today.
