Here is a fun christmas shot that I took last year... do you like the sepia affect on it?

I do like the sepia affect you've added, just wish it was cropped in to where all the interesting stuff was (I.E. the light area)

No sh*t… I have the exact thing happen. It happens every year around thanksgiving. I remember the first time it happened I jumped out of bed convinced that my heart had stopped and I had but minutes to live. This was late at night and everyone was asleep. It happened several times within a few weeks and had me panicked enough to go talk to the doc. They found nothing wrong and I even had a complete stress test.

By December they had stopped but the next year the same thing happened. I went to the doc right away and he did all kind of tests. I was poking myself checking some blood levels every hour and again he found nothing.

By the third year when the same thing happened he concluded that I was suffering from SAD. He recommended that starting early in November I get out a lot and get lots of sun. Since then I still get the attacks but they are much less severe. I can laugh about them during the day but at 3:00 in the morning when I’m frantically looking for a pulse convinced my heart has stopped it’s not so funny.

I'm bipolar, very mildly compared to many, but the winter kicks my butt. This is the first year in 4 years that I've had to take antidepressants and anti anxieties. It sucks. Generally I can control it with exercise, diet, sun, and vitamins.
Umm fish oils and extra vit. d via vitamins helps a lot too. I take them both and they help out a lot. I actually need more I'm just about out of the Vit. D and out of the fish oils.

I'll be buying the 1st and 3rd of the ones that Kay has listed for the Wii and Call of Duty world at war for the Xbox 360 for the hubbys stocking. I want to surprise him with something.

That's about what the doc told me. It stems from a difficulty metabolizing vitamin D. The exercise part seems to do the most.

Morning my loverlies.

see my perk is that my husband is one of the firefighters and none of them have a decent camera and that I can come and go as I please as long as I don't get in the way :D

Well, it helps to know people and it helps even more to be married to one ;) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my out of state conections ;) (uncle in Connecticut is a Hazmat Instructor and paid FF).

Well, I got my 12 guage shells so I'm ready for shooting tomorrow and my gloves got here a while ago (as everybody knows) so I'm going to be low and dry :)

And, I've got no idea what to get my brother for christmas. We already did shopping for mom (got her some clothes and books [pretty much the two kinds off things on her wishlist]) and I've got stuff like a 580ex II, Domke F-2, battery grip, 1.4x II TC, Adesso 12x7.5in computer tablet, etc. I also don't know what to get for Dad because #1 he's not going to be here anyways and #2 he said he didn't want anything and couldn't really think of anything he needs. So, I guess I could get him a book or two and some jazz cd's but still don't know what to get the bro ???

Hey guys--was just scanning through and trying to catch up. I hope everyone is feeling better mentally this evening!

So, I've got no equipment, no accessories. I've only the Canon Rebel XSi and kit lens. I think, though, that I might be in the market for lighting to use in a home studio type thing. No idea at all what to look for! I need cheap, but not crap. I want my husband to shoot budoir pics of me to hold me over until Diane shoots me. And I want studio pics of the kiddos. So...after I get the little ones in bed, I'll be popping something to dull the pain while I shop around!

Who's going to be around to keep me company in a bit?

Hope you feel better. I can honestly say that I'm very depressed today.

:( I hope by this evening you're feeling better. Stress brings it on for me to a large extent, and I was really feeling that today. Hopefully it'll be slightly better gone by tomorrow....I've got some great pics to process so far and I'm waiting on my friends....

SAD blows. This sounds stupid to a lot of guys, but are you able to visit a tanning bed/booth even once a week?

I have to agree on the crop, but I love the shot, its beautifully lit! (cuz you know, lmbo, I'm SUCH and expert on lighting.)

I work for a major telephone equipment manufacturing company. I work in R/D creating the new equipment that makes all the cool cell phone features possible. We sell our goods to all the majors, Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, and others. My specific job is managing all the groups that test all the features, debug the system, and put out sellable product. As most of these guys have moved off shore, I do everything remotly. I have a team in Japan, India, Korea, China, Indonesia, and Malasia. It's a diverse group but it keeps me up and online 18 hours a day.

It ain't so bad, why do you think I hang here so much. Work and hour, play an hour and so forth, sleep, and start it all over again. It pays the bills.

The doc actually prescribed full spectrum lights. Tanning beds are UV only and don't help metabolizing vit D. I've actually found that spending an hour a day outside in the sun works best so around lunch time I go take a walk. Trouble is that Chicago can be totally cloudy and grey for weeks on end.
