Seen a lot of discussion. It looks a ppl are just saying things based on their friends observations. Is there are site with a side-by-side high-iso comparison that's based on facts not just their impression?

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Thanks! this is exactly what I'm looking for. Looks like 20D and 5D is pretty much the same noise-wise at ISO 3200. But there's only 1 image, any more site with more images?

Here is the 30D vs. the 5D

They are basically the same at the pixel level. The 5D just puts more pixels on a bigger sensor. Whether or not this is an advantage to you depends on how/what you shoot.

There really isn't much you can say. Both are great cameras, both have some inherent advantages.

dr_who,
When I got my 40D over a year ago (time flies) I did a quick comparison against my 5D at there highest true ISO (ISO 1600) to see the difference in noise. I then made a web page of the different photos with 100% crops. 5D vs. 40D <-- click to see (external link)
