I've used the live.com cashback before with success. Thinking about using it again now, and I also have a 10% eBay coupon. Can I use these both to buy a lens? The eBay terms and conditions don't offer a definite answer:

eBay may permit you to combine Cashback Rewards with other eBay promotions, coupons, or gift certificates (each, an "eBay Promotion") and may permit you to receive Cashback Rewards on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates. If eBay elects to do so, you will be provided with an opportunity to combine Cash Back Rewards with the eBay Promotion during the checkout flow on www.eBay.com (external link). With the exception of eBay Promotions as described herein, Cashback Rewards cannot be combined with any other offer on purchases on www.eBay.com (external link);

Has anyone done this with success? Anyone had their Live.com cashback cancelled as a result of using a coupon?

I was reading somewhere about a guy complaining because he got his cashback rejected. He did combine with an Ebay coupon, and that was the reason given by Live.com for the rejection. Read both terms - Ebay is different from Live.com. It's ultimately up to Live.com to approve your cashback, and their terms do not allow using another coupon. I'm not taking any chances.

Get ebay on the chat.

Ask who the coupon is through. I'll bet they say Paypal, which would not be an exception.

I've heard stories that people did successfully combined them.

I know for sure that my employee 20% coupon can be combined with MS live.com.

After reading tons of stuff over the past hour it seems like most people are successful using the Ebay coupon and the cashback. I'll give it a try, but I was really waiting for the cashback to possibly jump to 30% on "cyber Monday" but the Ebay coupon expires 11/30.

The more I read about this the more I get confused. I would love to hear from someone who combined coupons and got their cashback. Not just pending cashback - I mean approved 60 days later and paid to you.

Someone asked Live.com support and got this response:

---------------
Good Morning xxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Live Search cashback Customer Support with your question today. I do see that you have received a 10% coupon to use on a purchase. Unfortunately it does state in our terms and conditions that we do not allow the use of coupons and the cashback program. It has been know that eBay/PayPal will allow the use of coupons when making a purchase and still receive your cashback. That will be up to eBay and the seller who you are purchasing from.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us back via chat or email.

Have a good weekend

But the cashback is still pending, right? Microsoft could still deny it in the next 60 days.

Tried to use it to get a total of $300 off a lens. Looks like it would have worked but the 15% or 10% coupons weren't valid for my ebay/paypal account.

For those that combined the cashback and coupon, which one kicked in first?

Let say an item is $800, with 10% it's $720 and the cashback is 25% of $720? or it's the other way around, 25% off $800 first then 10% off of the new amount?

Both are taken off of original price.

I was able to use both. I used a 10% coupon from Ebay and received the maximum cashback. The cash back kicked in first. Then the discount because when you check out, the coupon code is applied later.

However I only recently made this purchase so it is still pending. After reading the response above from MS, I am now worried about my cash back as the possibility exists that i might not get it.

The language is unclear.

It would be good if someone here can say that they have successfully applied the coupon and have actually received their cash back funds.

I don't get this at all. Its like pulling teeth with them. What would be the next step then in order to get an answer on whether the cash back is valid or not.

:( I am now really worried about this. Looks like they're gonna pull a fast one on all of us who used the coupon. I hope I am wrong!
